Personal hygiene means taking care of my body and includes bathing, washing your hands, brushing your teeth and more.
Every day we come into contact with millions of germs and viruses. They can stay in your body and in some cases can make you sick. Loving my body means doing everything I need to in terms of personal hygiene that can prevent possible diseases and also feel good about my appearance.

Hand hygiene
Germs on your hands can easily enter your body through your mouth, nose, eyes or ears. This is why we should wash our hands:
- when we eat food
- before we eat
- if we catch the garbage
- when we sneeze
- every time we touch an animal
Hand hygiene is one of the most important, especially in times of a pandemic like this one today, of Covid-19.
Dental hygiene
Good dental hygiene is more than just white teeth.
Brush at least twice a day for 2 minutes. The goal is to brush after you wake up and before you go to sleep. If you can, also brush after every meal. Floss between your teeth daily and ask your dentist about using an antibacterial mouthwash.
These two steps can help prevent tooth decay and eliminate pockets where bacteria and germs can accumulate.
Sanitary shower
Personal preference may dictate how often you want to shower, but most people will benefit from a rinse at least every other day. Showering with soap helps wash away dead skin cells, bacteria and oils.
You should also wash your hair at least twice a week. Washing your hair and scalp helps remove skin build-up and protects against oily residue that can irritate your skin.
